I like the lighting and how the posing while nude is also very modest and soft... I wish there was more depth of field to the image
:iconamiyaz:
the intention was to have his face perfectly sharp but mine softer to compliment the mood and sentiment. I can see how it could have used a bit more DOF . . .

Nice shot.. but to make it stronger:
1. you could crop tighter. lose his ear on the right, and crop
up half way to your chin. Makes this a stronger image.
The harsh shadow across is chin is distracting. Move your
main light source a little higher.
2. I think I would like to see your hair over your ear (optional)
and maybe try with Keith looking down, so he relates more
to you.

thank you for taking the time to comment. I do see how a closer crop could make this stronger, but I didn't like how his under arm creases looked without the arm as a reference when I took out the ear. and there is something about the triangle between us that I liked in print, so I decided to keep it in lieu of cropping up too. maybe I'm a traditionalist in that I rarely like to crop at all, rather take the picture with a different composition the next time around (if there is one).

I completely agree about the lighting 100% and wish I could have changed that about this image - I burnt in his face as much as I could but dodging the chin just didn't blend right with his body. the curse of a college dorm light.

There were others in the series that had him looking down softly, but in this I was trying to highlight contradictory characteristics for one.

You have absolutely wonderful thoughts :aww:

I wanted to wright you earlier, that I am amased with your comments- they`re concret, without: "Awesome, love it, great, kisses, fantastic...." and so on. Deviant is not a place where I can find constructive criticism and that`s why You have suprised me very positively! I will be waiting from time to time for more ; ) if it`s not a problem.
[I have noticed, you have polish-sounds name. Can I ask: do U have polish roots?]

Greeting, Alusia

much appreciated, my favourite new DA friend!!! the same goes for you with comments that actually mean something. as my time online is slim since I've recently been blocked from personal sites at work, I'll do my best to give you feedback when I can.

as for your question, yes I do have some Polish heritage....my father's parents and my mother's father all had parents from Poland/Eastern Europe. My mother's mom was born in Italy, so in essence I'm just about 25% Italian 75% Polish. About 5 years ago I went to Krakow and loved the place and people very very much, but I definitely have to come back again to see more of Poland.

I`ll understand and be happy even if you leave only one comment per year ;)
About Poland and heritage.... Your family must have interesting history! And you- if you want t go to to Poland someday, visit not cities, but Mountains Bieszczady or eastern region, Kazimierz Dolny town or region Kotlina Klodzka... There`s beautiful! :) (And people in Bieszczady.... so warm and good....)
:iconamiyaz:
That's great advice!!! I'll put it on my never ending list of places to see.

What a beautiful, beautiful man...I saw the other photo of him, too, and looked in your gallery for another. I hope you'll tell him I saw so. I've never seen anyone so beautiful.
